the view from the rooms at Bira Dive Camp view from one of the bungalows – your bungalow?

Our dive camp consists of several repurposed traditional houses, all hand-built by craftsmen from the local village helping preserve their cultural heritage. Rustic, comfortable and the perfect way to enjoy dive camp.

As the first dive camp in this part of Indonesia we would like to combine a good price for diving, easy accommodation, beautiful diving and a friendly and relaxed environment. To not interfere to much with the local village we use all second hand wood to build all our bungalows, and our mission is also to start a project together with the government to help Bira become a cleaner place and get a structure around their handling of trash.

About the diving we believe that when you start to learn how to dive you need quantity of dives to really feel comfortable in the water. Therefor we have chosen to include 3 dives/day and you can choose to stay at the camp 1 or 2 weeks, which basically means that you’ll get between 18-36 dives staying with us at Bira divecamp.

First bungalow completed at bira divecamp First Bungalow completed! If you fancy a change from diving while you are here then we have plenty to keep you occupied. Ask the staff about visiting Tanah Beru about 20km where they build the traditional Phinisi boats, its a great fun motorbike journey through the villages, we all love ‘motorbike safari’ so there is always someone around to show you the way, for those wanting to chill out a bit we have plenty of little shacks and huts around and hammocks to relax in.  Whenever possible we try to have a Yoga Instructor on at the camp so you can enjoy Beach Yoga on our beautiful sandy beach.
